By this point, I was fairly confident I had my answer.
Don’t get me wrong, this didn’t happen overnight. It took almost a year from first stumbling across seasonal colour theory to finally feel confident saying, I’m a Summer. Not because someone told me I was, but because I’d slowly gathered enough evidence to convince myself.
Now What?
I was still worlds away from being a colour analysis expert, but somewhere along the way, the way I looked at colour had irreversibly changed.
I had stopped seeing clothes as individual pieces and started seeing relationships—
between colours, contrast, undertones, and the way they interacted with my own features.
Looking back, that’s probably the biggest thing colour analysis gave me. Not a label, but a new way of seeing. I started recognising patterns.
I became better at spotting what worked, what didn’t, and—perhaps most importantly—why.
The experiment had answered my first question.
Now a new one appeared.
What do I actually do with this information?
Knowing my season was one thing. Learning how to shop differently, style differently, and build a wardrobe that actually worked for me was a completely different challenge.
And then there was the elephant in the room—
What on earth was I supposed to do with all my clothes that weren’t Summer at all?
Beyond the Label
And that’s exactly why I decided to start this blog.
It’s a journal of my personal journey through seasonal colour analysis. I like to think of it as a lab book—a record of observations, failed hypotheses, unexpected discoveries, and, hopefully, a few shortcuts for anyone starting their own journey.
Not because I’ve mastered colour analysis—I haven’t. There are professionals with years of experience who can see things I’ll probably miss for a long time. But that’s never been the point.
This isn’t an expert’s guide—it’s an honest account of figuring things out as I go.
Seasonal colour theory is far from the be-all and end-all when it comes to styling—I will die on that hill.
However, at the same time, it is one of the most powerful tools to start with when refining personal style and finding a unique voice.
If you’re also trying to make sense of your own colouring, consider this your invitation to join me. Together, we’ll explore what works, what doesn’t, and all the little discoveries that happen somewhere in between. No perfect answers, no rigid rules—just curiosity, experimentation, and a willingness to see style through a new lens.
The experiment is ongoing…
