Purpose
This policy explains what personal data Summer Palette Lab (summerpalettelab.com) collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have about it. I’m based in the United Kingdom, and this policy is written with that in mind.
Who this is

What I collect
- Comments — if you leave a comment, WordPress stores your name, email address, and IP address, plus a cookie to remember your details for next time.
- Contact / email — if you email me directly, I have whatever you choose to send (your email address and message).
- Newsletter signup (include if applicable) — if you subscribe, your email address is stored with the email service provider used to send updates, and you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
- Analytics data — this site uses Google Analytics (via the All in One SEO plugin) to understand general traffic patterns. This collects non-identifying information like which pages are visited, roughly how long for, device/browser type, and approximate location (usually city/country level, not a precise address).
Cookies
This site uses standard WordPress cookies related to commenting and, if you’re logged in as an admin, site login. Google Fonts (Fraunces and Work Sans) are loaded to display the site’s typography, which may involve a request to Google’s servers when you visit a page.
Analytics
This site runs the All in One SEO plugin, which includes a Google Analytics integration. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about how visitors use the site — pages viewed, time spent, general location, and device/browser type — and this data is processed by Google. It’s used only to understand traffic and improve the site; it isn’t used to identify you personally. This data may be processed on servers outside the UK/EEA, including in the US, under Google’s own data-transfer safeguards. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by adjusting your cookie preferences.
Embedded content
Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. Pinterest pins). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website directly — it may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction, exactly as if you’d visited that site’s own page.
Advertising & affiliate links
Some posts may contain affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you purchase through them, at no extra cost to you. If/when this applies, it will be disclosed within the relevant post. Any ad networks in use may set their own cookies to serve relevant ads — this section will be updated with specifics once ads or affiliate partnerships are active.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to ask what personal data I hold about you, request corrections, ask for it to be deleted, or object to how it’s used. If you’re not satisfied with how a request is handled, you also have the right to complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the site grows (for example, when analytics, a newsletter tool, or affiliate links are added). The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
